Change Leadership For Entrepreneurs

An Entrepreneur’s Journey

Building a business is hard. Getting out of your own way can be harder.

Every entrepreneur is leading change, starting with themselves. Get practical help with marketing, pricing, sales, and leadership, plus support for the mental and emotional side of building something new.

2005The year I went out on my own and started a blog called Entrepreneur’s Journey
Where This Started

I’ve Been Where You Are

In 2005, I could see that social technologies were going to be just as disruptive as the internet, if not more, and that they’d open up opportunities for many more people. It was early, and plenty of people didn’t believe me. So I had to believe in myself.

At the time, I started a blog called Entrepreneur’s Journey to share what I was learning with other early adopters. The biggest lesson surprised me.

Going out on my own required just as much mental and emotional work as work on the business, and sometimes more.

Today, I help organizations lead change. Entrepreneurship is the same work on an individual level. Before you lead a team or a market, you have to lead yourself through uncertainty, new skills, and a steady stream of decisions. Inspired by my first blog and decades of experience, An Entrepreneur’s Journey shares what I’ve learned, along with the support I wish I’d had.

What We Can Work On Together

Practical Help For The Business And The Person Building It

Bring the challenge in front of you. Here are some of the areas we can dig into together.

The Real Problem You Solve

Get to the heart of the problem your customers want solved, which is often different from the one you’re describing.

How Your Audience Feels About It

Understand the emotions your customers attach to the problem, from frustration to fear, so your message meets them where they are.

The Cost Of Leaving It Unsolved

Show prospects the real implications of the problem, so they see why acting now matters.

Pricing With Confidence

Set prices that reflect your value, and hold steady when someone pushes back.

Getting In Front Of Prospects

Find creative ways to reach the people you serve that fit your strengths, your budget, and your market.

Negotiating

Prepare for conversations about price, scope, and terms, so you can advocate for yourself and keep the relationship strong.

Marketing That Works

Build a marketing approach that fits your stage and the way your customers make decisions.

Partnerships

Identify partners who can extend your reach, and structure partnerships that work for both sides.

Leading A Team

Hire, delegate, and lead your first team members as your business grows beyond what you can do alone.

Leading Yourself Through Change

Work through fear, self-doubt, and uncertainty, so you can trust yourself, make decisions, and embrace what’s next.

If it’s part of building a business, we can work through it together.

I’ve spent decades in sales, marketing, and consulting, from recruiting and negotiating in a fast-moving market to building and leading my own award-winning agency. Along the way, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients and learned what helps a business, and the person behind it, grow, adapt, and thrive.

What can we work on in one-on-one consulting?

Sessions can cover identifying the real problem you solve, understanding your audience’s emotions about it, showing the cost of leaving it unsolved, pricing, creative ways to reach prospects, negotiating, partnering, marketing, and leading a team, along with the mental and emotional side of building a business.

How much does one-on-one consulting cost?

One-on-one consulting is $150 an hour. Packages start at $395 for three sessions, and the Journey Partner option offers two sessions a month for $325.
